Symptoms
Symptoms start on younger leaves showing necrotic and partially split tips that bend down. Leaf blades are brittle, shrivelled and narrow. Irregular dark and light brown patches expand over the leaf. Translucent lesions called "water sacks" may appear between the veins and exude water droplets on the upper leaf surface. Growing points become distorted and may die.
Excessive tiller growth gives the plant a bushy appearance.
Growth and yield are reduced.
Reasons
Boron deficiency
Boron deficiency symptoms are sometimes called "false pokkah boeng" disease.
Furthermore, the spindly appearance can be confused with herbicide damage
