Symptoms
Starting from the tips, emerging leaves show progressing chlorosis. Plant size is reduced.
Often the leaf tips are white and rolled. Severe deficiency results in necrosis and subsequent death of the growing point. If rice is affected by B deficiency during panicel formation, the plants may fail to produce panicels.
Reasons
Boron deficiency.
B deficiency may be caused by low soil content or low availibility/mobility (adsorption, drought, excessive liming).
Optimum range in plant tissue: 6-15 mg/kg
Rice - Growth retardation
Symptoms
The complete root system is stunted and looks darker, less vigorous compared to the healthy variant.
Reasons
Boron deficiency on roots.
B deficiency may be caused by low soil content or low availibility/mobility (adsorption, drought, excessive liming).
